Some time ago I wrote here an article called Add more informations to social media sites. This time… for the similar reasons I tell you: add your photo (or avatar) to mybloglog and gravatar.
It’s a website, created by Yahoo! where you can discover who’s checking you out, share your online activity, connect with other people.
It’s a website, where you can upload your photo for different websites – something like smaller OpenID.
On both websites.
All of that because of your image. Lots of bloggers, website owners, etc use custom mechanisms, which check (based on your e-mail address, website, name) is your photo on mybloglog (or gravatar) or not. If it is there – they simply display it on their websites and blogs.
I will summarize this by recalling one of the points from my previous article:
“People know with who they are talking
It’s always better when you can see someone’s face, when you see who you’re talking. It’s always more like in reality, it’s easier. If you don’t want to show your face… create some kind of unique avatar and upload it. (…) People want to know who are you.”
